Rob Greacen grew up in Ireland where he earned a degree from Dublin University and then arrived in London in time for the last gasps of the ‘80s boom. He started out in commercial property in London before working all over Europe and America growing a property and venture capital business for the Lewis Trust Group. That’s where Rob met James and Pat and a mutual desire to go out on their own resulted in the birth of Draco Group and subsequently, the Stay Original Company.
James Brooke-Webb grew up on the Devon/Somerset border where his first jobs included working on local farms and behind the bar of the local pub (thereby making him a highly qualified member of the Stay Original Co team). Short stints in ski lift maintenance and teaching somehow led to a first class degree in Land Management from Reading University and an impeccably timed move to London to start a career in commercial property right at the start of the 1990’s recession. The next 16 years were spent at Richard Ellis, Chelsfield plc and the Lewis Trust Group before James joined Rob at Draco in 2006, forming Stay Original Co. in 2011.
Pat Gill grew up in the North of England arriving in London in the early in the ‘80s with an Honours Degree from Manchester University. A Chartered Engineer and a Chartered Surveyor, Pat joined an International Construction Company from University, working in Project Management. This led on to Land Securities, the UK’s largest developer, and then private practice where Pat headed up a Project Management department. Prior to joining Draco, Pat had gained 25 years experience and completed development of over 2.5 million sq ft of commercial space.
Tom Blake grew up in Yatton, south of Bristol. He always wanted to be a chef, he says and doesn’t seem to mind working ridiculously long hours in very hot places. Luckily Tom has ‘the gift’. He came to Draco Pub, as it was then, having honed his skills at River Cottage and regularly churns out award winning food and writes brilliant menus. He leads the team from the front and has built up a fantastic network of Somerset farmers and suppliers. Fresh local food is where it begins and ends for Tom and that is a great thing for our customers.
Natalie Zvonek-Little studied psychology at UWE, Bristol and then went straight into this business. This has turned out to be an excellent career decision as it allowed her to gain invaluable shop floor experience and evolve her comprehensive understanding of the customer. Behind the fresh face and youthful looks are hard-earned years in catering and hospitality, which is why we are so lucky to have her with us, leading the front of house teams.
